What is collected
Messages and booking requests
When the contact form or booking form is used, the site receives the name, email address, company or website (if given), topic, message, and for bookings the chosen time and the visitor's time zone. This is information the visitor chooses to provide.
Website analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how people arrive. It records things such as pages viewed, approximate location (country or city level), device and browser type, and referring site, using cookies or similar identifiers. It is not used to identify individuals.
Security and spam protection
To limit abuse, the contact and booking forms keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of the visitor's IP address for up to an hour, to count how many requests come from one place. The raw address is not stored by the forms. The hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
How it is used
- To read and reply to messages, and to confirm and hold booked call times.
- To send a confirmation email to the person who made the request, and a calendar invitation when a call is confirmed.
- To keep the site secure and to understand, in aggregate, which content is useful.
Information is not sold, rented, or used for advertising, and no automated decisions are made about anyone.
Why it is allowed
Where privacy law requires a legal basis, messages and bookings are handled because the visitor asked for a response (steps taken at their request) and for the legitimate interest of running a consulting business. Analytics is based on the legitimate interest of understanding site use and, where the law requires it, on consent. Visitors can refuse or withdraw analytics at any time using the options below.
Who else sees it
- Email provider. Messages and confirmations travel through the SMTP email service configured for this site.
- Hosting provider. The website and its stored booking records are hosted on a web hosting service.
- Google. Analytics data is processed by Google under its own terms.
Information is shared only with these service providers, or when the law requires it.
How long it is kept
- Booking records on the site are removed roughly 60 days after the booked date.
- Emails are kept in the business mailbox for as long as the correspondence is useful or required for business records, and are deleted on request where there is no reason to keep them.
- Analytics data is kept for the period set in Google Analytics.
Cookies and choices
The only cookies are those set by Google Analytics. They can be blocked through browser settings, a content blocker, or Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The site works fully without them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and California, you may have the right to ask what is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its use, and to receive a copy. To use any of these rights, email naresh@zettaz.com. A request will be answered within a reasonable time, and you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
International visitors
The site is run from the United States and serves visitors worldwide. Information you submit may be processed in the United States and in other countries where the service providers above operate.
Children
This site is written for business audiences and is not directed at children. Please do not send personal information about anyone under 16.
